Conflictfood's saffron is harvested in Afghanistan by Shakiban, an independent women's collective - according to old traditions and entirely by hand. For one kilo of this “red gold”, over 200,000 crocus flowers have to be picked and the three stem threads have to be removed. After gentle drying, you get the most precious spice in the world – saffron. The scent of saffron is tart, sweet and warm at the same time. The aroma is reminiscent of vanilla and salty earth. This spice gives your dishes a golden-yellow color and refines rice dishes, desserts and pastries.

What is included in the package:
- 1 gr. of fine saffron
- Storage jar
- "Voices of Afghanistan" Journal

Keep dry and out of sunlight.
