Exclusive edition of 50 pieces. Art photography by American photographer Amanda Friedman - Los Angeles, USA I 2001.

A limited edition is the fixed number of copies for one individual artwork indicating how often it exists worldwide. Each print comes with a Certification of Authenticity hand signed by the artist.

The image is part of the "Night Landscapes" series.

While in her daytime Amanda is primarily working as a portrait photographer, shooting Hollywoods celebrities, in the nighttime she portraits her home-town Los Angeles in a very different light.

The 'Night Landscapes' series is utterly mesmerizing. Transporting us from our busy and chaotic lives, these photographs reveal a simple, beautiful, and a somewhat eerie solitude. By honing in on form, color and contrast, Amanda captures the peace, calm and beauty that we don’t always appreciate in our daily lives.

These photos always feature a strong light source, but there are no Hollywood effects here, all of Amanda’s photos are shot with medium and large format cameras with film using no digital manipulation.

Meet Amanda Friedman

Originally from suburban Detroit, Amanda started her career by taking pictures of up-and-coming actors and musicians in L.A. for Nylon magazine. Soon after, The London Sunday Telegraph discovered her work and started assigning her for portraits of celebrities. Sarah Silverman, Morgan Freeman, Orlando Bloom, Holly Hunter have been in front of Amandas camera. Aside from portrait photography Amanda loves to capture L.A. when the sun goes down. Her night landscapes show L.A. at its most obscure and brilliant, and finally make us understand the city’s gloom and color. Whatever she portraits her images are clean, graphic, natural and unforced.
